Traditionally, IT HW acquisition almost always was about
buying servers. It was often expected that the Server vendor
“bundled” some storage together with the server offering.
Today most IT organizations realize that the most critical
asset is not the servers, not even the storage, but the data that
is on the storage. Today’s issue is how to access this data from
different server types and over various distances.
